Impact Partners

We fight for the Health, Education, Financial Stability, Basic Needs, and Youth in our community.

Through the annual community investment process, United Way of Amarillo & Canyon funds programs in the following focus areas: Health, Education, Financial Stability, Basic Needs, and Youth. Each funding request undergoes an extensive approval process, completed by our community impact volunteers, to ensure United Way of Amarillo & Canyon is making the most effective investments in programs that align with our work, that the cycle of poverty can be broken. Below are the Impact Programs for our 2025-2026 Year.

Who picks where our funding goes?

Our Allocations Council reads applications, learns directly from the program/agency about their direct services, ensures there program aligns with our focus areas (Health, Education, Financial Stability, Basic Needs, and Youth) and serving ALICE+.

Why ALICE+?

ALICE+ stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed — individuals and families who work hard, often at multiple jobs, but still struggle to afford the basic cost of living. The “+” includes those living in poverty and those on the brink, one unexpected crisis away from instability.

In Randall and Potter Counties, 45% of households are ALICE+. That means nearly half of our neighbors — essential workers, caregivers, recent graduates, and even seniors — face impossible choices every day: Do I pay for groceries or cover the electric bill? Do I fill this prescription or put gas in my car to get to work?
